Alpha Leadership Project

The Alpha Leadership Project (ALP) is a program within DC-CAP for young men of color in DC public high school. ALP assists and empowers students through the educational process to improve academic achievement, increase the possibility that they graduate from high school, and be socially and academically prepared to enroll and graduate from college. The core components of the program are personal development, positive peer pressure, and parent training.

Launched in November 2007, ALP serves 9th grade minority males in the following schools: Capital City PCS, Coolidge, Dunbar, Roosevelt, and Wilson Senior High Schools.  A unique feature of ALP is the Alpha Leadership Fraternity (ALF). Upon successful completion of the 9th grade component, students are eligible for ALF.  The fraternity provides and promotes positive peer interaction for students in grades 10-12.  To learn more about the ALP program, please visit the ALP website.
