FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DC CAP Thanks Partners and Sponsors for Making College Signing Day 2025 Possible

Washington, D.C. — As DC College Access Program (DC CAP) prepares to welcome more than 3,000 DC students to Capital One Arena on April 11, 2025, for College Signing Day, we are proud to recognize the generous supporters whose partnership and philanthropy have made this celebration, and our work to close the college completion gap, possible.

With deep gratitude, we recognize the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation, the Leonsis Family, and Monumental Sports & Entertainment for their leadership, vision, and sustained investment in our mission. Their transformational contributions have enabled us not only to host this unforgettable day for DC students but also to launch a groundbreaking $30 million campaign to increase college completion across the District. These founding partners have committed $20 million in matching funds to support DC CAP’s cohort-based scholarship model, which pairs financial assistance with intensive, year-round support to help students persist and succeed.

We are also incredibly thankful to Capital One, The Sallie Mae Fund, & Venture Global whose generous sponsorship of College Signing Day 2025 has been essential in making this celebration a reality. Their continued support exemplifies the shared commitment across the public and private sectors to invest in DC’s students and the region’s future.

DC CAP also gratefully acknowledges the donors whose support is pivotal in making this day possible: Robert & Arlene Kogod Foundation, Tom and Jeannemarie Davis, W. Russell and Norma Ramsey Foundation, The Winger Family, Lumina Foundation, Graham Holdings, Fernandez Foundation, Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, Tom & Hillary Baltimore, Tom & Stephanie Conaghan, Scott & Meghann Bowman, Galena Yorktown Foundation, Pinkie & Carl Mayfield, Pathstone, Patrick and Donna Butler, Mark and Sally Ein Foundation, CityBridge, Jack Davies & Kay Kendall, Flamboyan Foundation, The Grossman Family, College Board, CBIZ, Inc, Boeing, Jeremy & Stephanie Blank, The Junaideen Family, Nikki Reid, Greater Washington Community Foundation, Greg & Tamika Tremaglio, Jimmy Sarakatsannis, and David & Monique Canada.

A Message from Our Leadership

“College Signing Day is a living, breathing reminder of what’s possible when a city rallies behind its students,” said Eric Waldo, President and CEO of DC CAP. “We are incredibly fortunate to have champions like the Clark Foundation and Monumental Sports making deep investments in our students’ futures—not just to get them to college, but to help them finish strong and enter the workforce ready to lead.”

“Our support of DC CAP is about believing in the potential of every DC student,” said Ted Leonsis, Board Chair of DC CAP and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Together with our partners, we are creating pathways to opportunity and helping young people transform their futures.”
